Is America a Democracy or an illusion of Democracy?

We are suppose to be a democratic republic but people whom we have selected ,W Bush has turned it into a Nazi dictatorship.Democracy, I believe is an illusion.This country is gone.From Reagan on it has been on a down slide.What we have to choose from in the Nov election maybe the end for America as we know it.
